XANADU

Two-tone woodcut reduction on french paper, 9.5”x11.5”, edition of 12, 2023

This piece was borne of a prompt for the artist’s final project in her Spring 2023 Intro to Relief and Intaglio course at Oberlin College. She was assigned to consider dystopia and utopia, and create a landscape that addressed any and all aspects of either. The print was based off of a photo the artist took at a gas station situated between her hometown of Austin, TX and Dallas, TX. Xanadu remains woefully unwatched by the artist, but it’s at the top of her watch-next list.
